Description

Ampelomyces quisqualis (AQ-sf) is a native fungal isolate to South Africa, and a hyper parasite to the common Powdery Mildew (PM). It has been known to attack up to 64 kinds of mildew.

Mode of Action:

Plants infected with PM will display white patches of fluff usually on leaves or stems. The fungus will pierce cell walls and sap plants dry of nutrients and fluids, in time killing it.

After AQ-SF application, A. quisqualis spores enter the mycelium growth of PM spreading within it’s body over a few days. During this time, PM will not die but also not be able to multiply either. A. quisqualis will then fruit inside the ‘strands’ of the PM killing it in the process. Plant tissue infected with PM killed by A. quisqualis will also die.

Most effective when used on a regular basis as prevention rather than cure. Able to over winter or survive inter crop periods. Success is most common at warmer temps like 20-30°C.

Not compatible with Jadam Wetting Agent, copper, sulphates, general fungicides, citrus oils, oxidisers and sterilizers. Suitable wetting agents include mono-silicilic acid, fulvic acids, molasses and horticultural oils like Bio-Neem or canola.

Active ingredient – Ampelomyces quisqualis

Direction for use:

• 5ml per litre dechlorinated water sprayed 1-2 times per week as a preventative(pH 5-7)
• 10-25ml per litre sprayed 2-3 times per week for infestation control.
• Safe to apply until 3 days before harvest.
• Apply in the coolest part of the day.
• 400g/1L AQ-SF/1 ha

*Best used in conjunction with BioTricho (Trichoderma harzianum)

STORE IN THE FRIDGE TO EXTENDED SHELF LIFE BY UP TO 6 MONTHS. Product is still viable if accidentally frozen and still within expiry date.
