Description
The ROOT!T Hobby Insulation Mat is works with the ROOT!T Hobby Heat Mat and is essential for early propagation and developing roots on cuttings fast. Distributing a gentle heat when placed under a propagator and on top of the heat meat, the cold will be kept at bay protecting your seedlings and clones.
The ROOT!T Insulation Mat will allow you to start your propagation earlier or continue later in the season. The heat from the heat mat is generated by the single mesh element encased inside a waterproof, frayproof matting. Controllable by the Root!t Heat Mat Thermostat, you’ll be propagating like a pro.
Ideal to withstand the tough greenhouse environment.
Use in conjunction with Happy Harvest Rooting Gel and Propagation Domes for the best results.
A good cutting is between 7 and 10cm long. A green flexible stem will give you the best chance of successfully cloning your plants. With a clean, sharp blade or pruner, cut at a 45° angle. Place cuttings immediately in water submerging the cut. Dip each cutting into the rooting gel covering the bottom 1cm and especially the wound. Lastly place the fresh cutting into a rock wool cube, Jiffy pellet or Preforma plug. Kept humid at 24° roots should appear in 7 to 14 days.
Rooting/Cloning Tips:
- A foliar application of kelp 2 weeks before cuttings are made can aid in root development.
- Take cuttings later in the day rather than early in the morning.
- To ensure a long shelf life, store rooting gel in the fridge.
- To avoid contamination, do not dip cuttings into rooting gel jar. Take a small amount of rooting gel from the jar or bottle to use for cuttings and discard afterward.
- Don’t add any nutrients to your solution or water used for germination or propagation.
- Once clones have rooted, feed with an EC of 1.2 or 600ppm
