Description

Happy Harvest Rooting Gel is a premium product. Often referred to as cloning gel, it’s used to create new plants from a cutting. The gel contains rooting hormones that aid a cutting to grow a new root system. Also known as cloning, this is the process of propagation.

A good cutting is between 7 and 10cm long. A green flexible stem will give you the best chance of successfully cloning your plants. With a clean, sharp blade or pruner, cut at a 45° angle. Place cuttings immediately in water submerging the cut. Dip each cutting into the rooting gel covering the bottom 1cm and especially the wound. Place the fresh cutting into a rock wool cube, Jiffy pellet or Preforma plug.

As the rooting gel dries around the stem and cut, it seals in moisture and protects from infection. This will also keep active ingredients in contact with cell tissues. With the presence of the hormones, new roots begin to form. Humid, temperate environments are best for new cuttings for the next 7-14 days while they strike roots. Propagation domes are best in keeping humidity levels high. Raise temps with a heat mat and thermostat to promote quick rooting especially in the cooler winter months.

To ensure a long shelf life, store rooting gel in the fridge. To avoid contamination, do not dip cuttings into the jar. Take a small amount of rooting gel from the jar or bottle to use for cuttings and discard afterward. Simply ‘fill up’ the hole in a jiffy preforma plug with our spouted bottle to make bulk cloning easier.

Available Sizes:
  • 50ml Glass Jar = 200 cuttings
  • 150ml Spouted Squeeze Bottle = <600 cuttings
  • 1000ml Plastic Jar = <4000 cuttings
Rooting/Cloning Tips:
  • A foliar application of kelp 2 weeks before cuttings are made can aid in root development.
  • Take cuttings later in the day rather than early in the morning.
  • Dissolve a small amount of rooting gel in ph 5.5 water and use this to expand or soak plugs in.
