PlantGuard® Silica

Description

PlantGuard® Silica is an available source of silica ready to be absorbed by plants. Although not an essential element for plants, they use silica to increase cell wall strength and improve photosynthesis.

Silica can aid in the uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc and molybdenum. It can also regulate the uptake of iron, aluminium and manganese. Research has also found that silicon/silica adheres to phosphates in the soil solution, increasing availability for plants.

Applications of PlantGuard® Silica can help crops deal with stress like drought or over watering. Silica also aids in preventing pests and increases resistance to moulds and mildews.

Stored within cell walls it improves cell wall strength. It also increases plant rigidity, root growth, linear growth and water efficiency. 

PlantGuard® is a silicon rich material made up of ionised liquid monosilicic acid and its oligomers (which are extra active forms of silicon). Monosillcic acid is hard to produce and remain in this liquid state without forming crystals or sediment. This is what makes this patented tech so unique. PlantGuard® is in a stable form, unlike other silica products.

  Silicon reduces the effects of stress and has been credited to:

• Reduce transpiration through the outer cells
• Improve stomatal conductance
• The stimulation of anti oxidants that:
• Increase chlorophyll content
• Improve photosynthesis
• Promotes a healthy root system

Directions For Use:

• Drench – 1-3ml/10L Water (1L/ha)
• Foliar – 1ml/L Water (0.5-1L/ha)
• Hydroponic tank – 1-2ml/10L Water (added first, more info here)
• Not compatible with products with high levels of calcium and magnesium
• pH Correct foliar solution to 6-7 before application
• Apply foliar spray in the coolest part of the day

• Si – 52.9g/kg
• Si(OH4) – 181g/kg

WARNING! Please note that PlantGuard is very alkali. Use caution when using this product. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. If contact is made, wash affected area with large amounts of running water.
