Description
The
LUMii BLACK 600W HPS Lamp is a Dual Spectrum lamp with a E40 fitting. HPS, or
High Pressure Sodium produces more red light. This promotes flower onset and production and is, therefore, more suited to the flowering phase.
For best results, we recommend using the LUMii BLACK 600W HPS Lamp with a LUMii BLACK
Electronic or
Magnetic Ballast. The E40 fitting works with the
Lumii Aerotube Reflectors,
BLACK Wing Reflector and
Power Plant AeroWing Reflector.
E40 is larger than the standard household fitting.
What is HID lighting?
High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting replaces the filament of a light bulb with a capsule of gas. The light emanates from an arc discharge between two closely spaced electrodes. This discharge is hermetically sealed inside a small quartz glass tubular capsule. HID lights require a ballast, which carefully regulates the voltage supplied to the capsule of gas.
Warnings:
HPS lamps give off large amounts of heat. The lamp itself becomes extremely hot and stays hot for a while after use. Never, ever touch the bulb when it is on or has been on.
When using an HPS lamp for the first time, leave the lamp on for at least an hour.
