Eco-BB

Description

Eco-BB is a powerful biological insecticide designed for modern integrated pest management programs. It helps suppress a wide range of insect pests on vegetables, berries, orchard crops, and avocados. Eco-BB® works against eggs, larvae, nymphs, pupae, and adult insects, giving growers more control over pest populations throughout the crop cycle.

Eco-BB Mode of Action:

The active ingredient in Eco-BB® is Beauveria bassiana, a naturally occurring beneficial fungus found in soils worldwide. Once Eco-BB® spores contact the insect, they germinate and penetrate the pest’s outer layer. The fungus then grows inside the insect, reducing feeding and activity before causing death within a few days. This natural mode of action makes Eco-BB® an excellent fit for sustainable and organic farming systems.

Target Pests

Eco-BB® targets pests such as whitefly, red spider mite, mealybug, leafminer, false codling moth, woolly whitefly, Tuta absoluta, and sucking bug complexes on avocados. It works well on crops including tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, beans, strawberries, brinjals, Cape gooseberries, orchard crops, and avocados.

The unique dry powder formulation contains oil-coated spores that improve spore survival and increase effectiveness against insect pests. The oil layer protects spores from UV damage and drying out, while helping more spores attach to the target insect.

Eco-BB® is non-toxic, has no withholding period, and is approved for organic use. Studies also show that it is safe for many beneficial insects, including ladybirds, lacewings, predatory wasps, predatory beetles, and honeybees when used as directed.

For best results, store Eco-BB between 4°C and 10°C. Under proper storage conditions, Eco-BB® offers a shelf life of up to 24 months.
