Perlite

Description

Perlite is a low density, lightweight and inexpensive growing medium. Volcanic rock is heated and expanded to 7-16 times it’s original size. Perlite is often added to coco in different ratios, a 50/50 mix is good for seedlings.

Perlite helps to combat root rot and other problems in the rhizosphere due to the added oxygen. Because of it’s natural pH, it’s an easy choice for growers in various forms of horticulture. A simple dust mask used normally for construction should be worn when working with perlite.
