pH is a number between 1-14 indicating the acidity or alkalinity of a substance or liquid. 7 is neutral, 1 is highly acidic while 14 is very alkaline.
The ideal pH for plants in a hydroponic grow is 5.5 – 6.5. pH meters need to be calibrated regularly to be kept accurate. More on calibrating a pH meter here.
By storing the HM pH80 meter correctly, you’ll make sure it lasts longer and get your money’s worth. Made from glass, probes contain fluid inside which must not dry out. The HM pH80s meter comes with sponge and storage solution in the box. Add a few drops storage solution to the sponge inside the cap. Simply rinse your meter before and after use replacing the cap when done.
