Grodan® AO36/40 Rock Wool plugs provides for a uniform germination and a high success rate. Shape and firmness of the plugs are of the highest quality.
Every Grodan® AO36/40 Rock Wool plug has a uniform density, firmness and fibrous structure. This means that distribution of water, nutrients and pH-value is also uniform. This is the key to a beneficial effect on germination results and initial crop development.
The substrates from Grodan® are the only rock wool growing media awarded an EU Ecolabel.

What is Rock Wool?
Produced by the heating of basalt rock and calcium, then spun into a sheet. Rock wool naturally has a high pH of 8 and should be soaked in water with a pH of 5.5 – 6 for 30 minutes prior to use. It can also irritate the skin, eyes and nose. Wear PPE should you be working with or cutting larger volumes.
Shake excess water off and place the seeds in the designated hole. Pinch the hole closed and place the rock wool in a warm area. Keep the rock wool plug moist but not overly soaked.
